MARIAH'S PROMISE ANIMAL SANCTUARY

My name is Toni Phillips. My husband, Mike, and I have been rescuing dogs since 1990. We started Mariah's Promise Animal Sanctuary, in 2003, as an all breed rescue & sanctuary for over-flow from local shelters.

In November 2008, after years of groundbreaking work, racing opponents in Massachusetts succeeded in passing a ballot initiative that will end live greyhound racing by January 2010. This is the first time anywhere that active greyhound tracks have been shut down by popular vote.
 

INDIANA'S HOMELESS DOG CRISIS

In better economic times, the recreational-vehicle industry put Elkhart, Indiana, on the map. Now, with almost no demand for RVs, the media has dubbed Elkhart "Unemployment Ground Zero." In any disaster area where people are having a hard time, pets have it just as hard, or harder. And sadly, Elkhart's animal shelter is reporting a huge spike in abandoned pets.
 

Much Love Animal Rescue

Much Love Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization founded in 2000. Since then, we've placed over two thousand dogs and cats in loving homes in the Los Angeles area.
 

New Leash on Life

New Leash On Life (NLOL) is a non-profit organization that not only saves the lives of homeless animals, but also makes a difference in the lives of people. As an animal rescue, NLOL's primary focus is rescuing dogs from local shelters and placing them in loving homes.
 

Animal Acres

Located just 45 minutes from Hollywood, Animal Acres is the newest Los Angeles "must see” destination for animal lovers. The 26-acre, hacienda-style sanctuary is home to hundreds of rescued cows, pigs, chickens, turkey, goats, sheep, and other country critters who have been rescued from cruelty and neglect.
